A wise woman very dear to me once instructed me to name 10 things everyday to which I was thankful. She also told me to vocalize then to allow them to become more real. The Blog is my internet voice.

1. I'm thankful for my goodbye morning kisses from Josh. Even if I am still sleeping.
2. I'm thankful for food, warm clothes and central heat during these chilly months.
3. I'm thankful for the ability to learn and grow both personally and professionally. I love change.
4. I'm thankful for family. I'm thankful for friendships.
5. I'm thankful for life, eternally.
6. I'm thankful for laughter.
7. I'm thankful for the endless amounts of information and friends at my fingertips compliments of The Internet.
8. I'm thankful for my clients. Big Smiles.
9. I'm thankful for my dog, Persay. She is my sunshine.
10. I'm thankful to be me. I wouldn't want to be anyone else.

I hope you all try it this! Even if it's at the table during a food coma... Happy Thanksgiving!

The Land of Friends and Potatoes.

"Laughter is the closest distance between two people." - Victor Borge.

I fully agree with Victor (cause we're on a 1st name basis). One of my most enjoyable moments in life are the ones where I struggle to breathe. Times when my eyes tear up and my mascara runs down my face. Moments where I'm sure I'm at my ugliest and cringing from stomach pain. Moments all because of laughter. Gut wrenching laughter.

This past weekend distance was no more and laughter was abundant. College friends gathered in the land of potatoes for a weekend of "I do's", laughter and fun-- sans distance.

On our drive to Boise, Idaho.

1st Dance for Brandon and Amanda!

Josh and I with the newlyweds. I know they'll have fun in on their tropical honeymoon. Lucky!

Josh, me, Bonnie and Cy. Josh and Cy were roommates during all 4 years of college.

Me, Kali and Bonnie.

Team Tomeoni.

Jon, Jana, me and Josh. Jon married us over 2 years ago! It was so wonderful to see them again.

I found myself at 7pm on Friday painted on the side of a wall in downtown Boise! I love wine.

Cheers to friends, wine and laughter. Of course!

Shelby and Brendan-- Engaged!

Many people meet in school. Fall in love. Get married. Live happily ever after. It's true! My husband and I are college sweethearts and we are living happily ever after. Big Smiles.

Shelby and Brendan met at school, just not the type of school you would imagine. They met over drinks at the Kennedy School in NE Portland. Fell in love. Getting married next year. I was lucky enough to have the entire scene reacted for me this last Sunday. Armed with what Brendan refers to as his "liquid courage" he got Shelby's digits. That ordinary night turned extraordinary in those few moments.

For those of you reading not in Oregon the Kennedy School is one of the many historic locations Mcmenamin's has bought, remodeled and turned into a movie/restaurant/bar/hotel/brewery. If you do live here and haven't been, let me tell you- you're missing out. Go this weekend!

Congrats Shelby and Brendan! I am so excited for your wedding next year. I had a blast shooting with you and I'm confident your big day will be filled with laughter, fun, jokes and random dancing. I can't wait! Big thanks to Grandma for entertaining Cooper while we photographed and big thanks to Cooper for being such a doll. Enjoy!

Meet Cooper. He tagged along for a bit so we could get some family shots. How cute is he?!?

LOVE this shoe shot.

Did someone say leave fight!

And here's the liquid courage :)

"Um... uh.... can I call you?"

This was totally a joke but the image turned out SO funny!

This one might be my favorite. I love their look in addition to the composition of this image.

They are so goofy! What fun.

The End.

I hope you enjoyed the images! Thanks for visiting, Melissa Tomeoni with Soul Mates Photography.

Retro Jody and Gill-- Engaged!

Jody and Gill

During our very first meeting Jody asked me about the engagement session. I explained the usual: 1-2 hours shooting on location of your choice. Engagement session comes with the hi-res files and permission to reproduce for personal use... As I continue to jabber on I notice this slight sparkle in Jody's eye. The moment I pause she asks a very important question-- "Have you ever shot a themed engagement session?" I respond, "No, but of course I would be up for it because I'm always up for something different." Jody proceeds, "Well..." But she stops herself. Giggles and waves her hand as if to dismiss her idea all together. "Oh, nothing." After a few times back and forth me trying to convince her to share and she just giggling. Jody pauses as she looks as Gill. "Well we really haven't discussed it yet." As they are staring at each other he says, "I think I have the same idea you have." She says, "I don't know if you do." He says, "I bet I do." And as if that HAD discussed it a thousand times they say something to the extent of "... a retro themed engagement..." More giggles.

Of course everyone is excited! Fun for them, fun for me. I'm thrilled and become more excited as they start explaining these ideas that include items like old LIFE magazines, a vintage vacuum cleaner, a smoking pipe, an ironing board even a vintage kitchen mixer. It seems to me this retro 50's theme is just so Jody and Gill. It's just their "thing." If I can speak for them we had a blast!

Jody and Gill-- here's your idea come to life. I had such a great time conjuring up ideas between man and woman that were so prevalent in the 50's. Thanks for being up for something different, something out of the ordinary! You two are just adorable! I can't wait for your wedding next year. Enjoy!

NOTE: I edited many of these images with a yellow cast (photo filter) to simulate a older look. I think it really makes the images more believable. I would love to see these printed on a fiber based paper. Fun!

GASP! They are touching!

Ahhhhh. Nothing beats a afternoon of ironing.

I love the look on Gill's face. The raised eyebrows, the one finger button pushing. Can't you just imagine Gill looking like this in another 40 years?

Home sweet home.

Jody is so adorable! Look at that laugh.

I love the outfits they were wearing. Perfect for a lovely fall day.
