Gorgeous Location and "I Do"

What a gorgeous location! If any my readers out there are engaged #1- Book me :) BUT first of all get married at Bridal Veil Lakes (it's close to Multnomah Falls) It's got all the outdoor features you are looking for; green everywhere, a gorgeous view of the Columbia, the lake as a backdrop to your ceremony, flowers, an adorable arbor to have your reception, and did I mention lush greenery? Oh, and an added bonus- if you would like, you may take a few moments and row out onto the lake during your reception. Amazing. Anyway, I photographed the now Mr. and Mrs. Fear with Annie of Annie's Sweet Pea Photography last week. What a pleasure it was to be spending my Sunday afternoon out at Bridal Veil Lakes, Oregon.

Introducing AJ- Newborn session

Welcome little AJ! This little guy was quite intrigued by the sound of my camera shutter firing off so close to his face. What a trooper... He was wide awake almost the entire time I was there... and I'm willing to bet he fell fast asleep the moment I left their place. If you are thinking to yourself... gee... this couple looks familiar- pat yourself on the back because your right! I photographed proud mom and dad a short 6 weeks ago for their maternity session. To end on a sweet note... do you see the handmade heart blanket? His talented Grandmother made him that. Lucky little guy.

Introducing Harrison- Newborn session

Little Harrison entered this big world two weeks before his due date-- eager to get here, I guess! His newborn session was taken on his actual due date, the 20th, and at only two weeks old he is a happy as pie. He was photographed in his new home and when you photograph a newborn you've got to kick up the heat to about 80 degrees! I sure was toasty in there for me, but I know little Harrison was as happy as could be.

Summer School for Photographers?

That's right! Summer school for photographers, which is really put on by the wonderful board of Professional Photographers of Oregon, was awesome! I just returned from the retreat in Bend, OR with wonderful new ideas, products and, by golly, but creative juices are flowing! I really value and put such a strong emphasis on continuing education-- it's so essential with a profession that uses the newest latest and greatest technical gizmos. I had the privilege of meeting not only awesome photographers but awesome people as well :) I don't usually name drop, but some of the speakers were TJ Cameron, Larry Ericksen, Bruce Berg, and David Jay. I have to say I got ideas and inspiration from every one of them. If you are a photographer in oregon I highly suggest you attend next year! If you would like more info, feel free to email me at soulmatesphoto@gmail.com.

And they have this sweet new logo! Good Job PPO.

Scott and Monica- Maternity Session

Scott and Monica are soon to be parents to a little... boy OR girl- they have opted to keep it a secret! So, we scheduled a maternity session of them and their future little one last week. We began the session at Tryon Creek State Park-- it's gorgeous! There you can find walking trails, equestrian trails, and you can even bring you pup (on a leash, of course!). We sought to embrace the great outdoors, and that we did. We finished up the session at their home photographing in the adorable green and yellow baby room and on the front porch. I love to incorporate the couples home where they had there baby simply because I know they will look back at these portraits and think... This is us in our first house just about to welcome our first child... together.

Bonnie and Cy- Wedding

Congrats to Bonnie and Cy who managed to tie the knot amidst the festivities of the US open in Del Mar, CA! They choose the Seagrove Park in Del Mar as their ceremony location because it's been the bride's favorite summer vacation spot ever since she was young. The reception was just a few steps away in this yummy, yummy place-- Pacifica Del Mar. I feel so blessed to have witnessed this gorgeous wedding between two gorgeous people. Enjoy the images!

Bonnie- Portrait

While I was back in California a few weeks ago I had to opportunity to photography one of the most beautiful people, Bonnie, who is getting married this upcoming week! As a wedding gift to her husband we compiled our talents (her good looks and my photography skills!) and created a custom gift for her new husband. Please contact me if you have any further questions regarding a private session of this nature :)

Travel- Las Vegas

Now, I know this is a travel post, but stay with me. I have one suggestion for those of you who visit Vegas. Please, PLEASE go have dinner, desert, or your beverage of choice at the Top of the World restaurant. This restaurant has the best 360 degree view of Las Vegas and it's unbelievable. It's very similar to The Space Needle in Seattle, Washington. While you are sitting for dinner the entire restaurant area rotates while you are eating-- It makes a full circle every 120 minutes! Now that makes every seat the BEST seat in the house,... baby.
