be MY friend

Be my friend... I consider most of my clients to be friends anyway so let's be connected! I'm on facebook way too much but, then again, isn't everyone?!

Happy Birthday Husband.

I've said this multiple times. I know it's repetitive. I know it might even be a tad annoying at times to the poor blog readers out there. However, I just don't care. I don't think Josh does either. I love my husband. He rocks my socks off. He's the whipped cream AND my hot chocolate. To quote the ever so intelligent Dr. Evil, "you complete me."

Happy Birthday Sweetheart!

And I quote the birthday boy, "this is the best birthday ever... man shopping... I love it!" He got to pick it out his new T.V. and surround sound all by himself.

We had two live Maine lobsters delivered to our doorstep... thanks to Megan we knew how to cook it.

Persay was jealous

Here we are steaming one. I was nervous but they didn't "scream" at all. Apparently they don't feel pain like we do.

We even broke out the china for this little bugger.

Josh was in heaven; T.V., lobster and steak... oh ya, and me of course!

Christmas with the Tomeoni's

I hope you all had a Merry Christmas! My parents flew in from LAX. After 1 canceled flight and 4 delays they made it! It was a wonderfully different holiday I didn't see my bro or sis and her hubby, BUT I got to spend it with my parents AND Josh's parents!

Dad's trying to explain to Persay why she needs to wear her coat outside.

Here we are on our street in Portland, Oregon.

Our drive through Portland to Christmas at Bob and Sandi's.

Christmas day. From left to right: me, Josh, my dad, my mom, Josh's mom and Josh's dad! It was so wonderful not splitting the holiday.

My adorable parents.

My in-laws live on the Willamette River. Here is the backyard.

Here's Sabrina (my sister-in-law) and her friend who got to celebrate Christmas with us! Doesn't he have a wonderful smile?!

Thanks Sweetie- I have no idea what this is :) Does anyone else have a present wrapper like this in their family? My hubby-- The king of wrapping presents in the most, um, unique possible way.

Eventhough Josh is the trick-est present wrapper I think I took the cake this year. We all chipped in and for Christmas and Birthday (Josh was born on the 26th) we got him a ....

It took him a good 30 seconds to figure out it was a TV. Surprise! I'm sure he will demand I take these down because of his awesome hair but I guess that's what you get when you don't change.

Hope you all had a wonderful vacation!

...For Christmas! You are more than welcome to email or call It just might take a bit for me to get back to you. Smiles.

I hope you all have a wonderful warm holiday filled with family and friends. Christmas time is a favorite of mine. I love the twinkle lights, the endless supply of cookies, time surrounded with family and friends. But more it's a time to celebrate the reason of the season. Love, compassion, giving, and love. I love it and I wish true joy for everyone.

Snow Day

As you know we are in the "artic blast" and I believe today is the most intense. That to say we will be staying inside.

I'm totally one of those people that loves this. I mean l-o-v-e this weather. I've discovered that I love the extreme. I love when it's super hot, I love when the tulips have just come out for spring, I love the buckets of fall leaves scattered around the roads and I love this crazy snow storm. They are always brief extremes but I love them nontheless. I mean comeone! How could this not be fun?!

Here are a few images from earlier this week. We took walks, and threw snowballs at Persay...she ate the snowballs... you know, the usual. We warned her-- don't eat the yellow snow.

Of course she has a jacket!

I think Persay hates photo ops. Make that I know Persay hates photo ops. Thanks to Josh here are a few photos of us.

This so cal girl is just enamored with these snow flakes.

Someone is seeking shelter.... she cracks me up!

Can you say "Dumb and Dumber"?

This is what I call the "ugly smile" during snow day.

I hope you all have a warm, fun, save weekend!!

Carrie and Kevin- Best of Portland

Have I ever mentioned how much I love my clients? Seriously. They are the best of Portland. I'm considering nominating all of them for the award. I owe it to my clients for the creativity, the locations, the encouragement and the excitement in my work. They are awesome and they not only make me a better shooter, but a better person. They all deserve a gold star-- at the least!

Carrie and Kevin are no exception. They were so fun and up for anything. I honestly believe they might be the most flexible couple I have come across. If you've been in front of my lens you know I always meet at our location regardless of the weather. I woke up last Saturday and looked outside to find a very blah (gray skies), cold (37 degrees) forecast. None-the-less I got ready and met them at their place as scheduled. I gave them 3 options; #1 shoot as scheduled outdoors at Lewis and Clark, #2 reschedule, or #3 revamp the session schedule and shoot indoors. My choice was #3- revamp and shoot indoors.... and so was theirs!

I am SO glad we chose to do so. Some of the most unique locations yet! We started at their home cause Carrie and Kevin have- get this- 2 dogs AND 2 cats! It's a full house, people and they wanted to include the doggies. We then ventured to their favorite place to grab a cup o' joe-- Pappacino's Coffee House. Then we went to the market, and then we did finally hit up Lewis and Clark for some freezing outdoor shots. Talk about variety! I loved it all and I hope you do too! Check it out.

Check out Carrie! Smoking hot!

But not serious for too long :)

On to Pappacino's Coffee House. SEE! I'm telling you-- Best of Portland.

They were laughing the whole time! I can't wait to capture them during the ceremony!

Dog lovers at heart. I love this one-- It's right before I told Kevin he should open the magazine :)

And off for a little shopping...

These are my favorite. I think. I love all 4 of these "through the window shots". I just love the color saturation, the hanging light, the horizon line, the look on their faces and the composition. I can't help but smile when I see these images. I'm a sucker for the "outsider" shots. The ones taken when in the in between.

Do you like this better in B and W

Or color?

And last but not least the Lewis and Clark campus. I am so glad we made it here because I love the old brick buildings. AND get this- Kevin's grandpa (right, Kevin? or was it uncle?) had land that was later given to the campus. Talk about family history!

I love that this one below looks like it was taken at the coast. I also love this comfortable look. They look so content with each other.

See! I'm not kidding! They were always laughing.

Do I hear save-the-date?

Can't forget kitty...
